If I have activated the RFID function, can I use and move the AMMO enclosure from one computer to another?
1. Yes. Even with RFID security you can use the AMMO on any other computer, as long as you have the dog tag key for decryption. However, the hard disk within cannot be used in a different external enclosure.
2. Ammo + HDD installed RFID + Dog Tag (keys) must be used with the Ammo at the same time. Do not move the installed HDD and RFID security separately.
-
To activate the RFID security, can I install a used HDD or do I need to buy a brand-new HDD?
Yes. You can install a used HDD and utilize the RFID function. Please note that there is no need to purchase a new hard drive.
2. You will need to create and format the HDD again before utilizing the RFID function. Before you start to partition and format the used hard drive, please be aware that this process will destroy any existing data on the drive.
2. Please make sure you have backed up any important information stored on the used hard drive before partitioning and formatting.

If someone takes the HDD out of the Ammo and places it into a different enclosure without RFID security, will it work?
Yes, the HDD will still function. However, the data stored on the Ammo’s HDD will be inaccessible. Also, the system will recognize the Ammo's HDD as without a partition and will format. The system will request for another partition and format the HDD; it should be noted that the existing data will be destroyed.
2. This is the most secure way to protect your data. Those unauthorized will be unable to retrieve your data.
-
Does the Ammo’s dog tag/FRID key require a battery?
1. No battery is required for ease and convenience.
-
Quelle est la distance recommandée entre le capteur RFID et la plaque d'identification?
1. The recommended distance is 5 mm.
-
If someone likes the Ammo’s design but prefers not to use the security (RFID) features of the Ammo, is it possible to use the device as a normal enclosure?
Yes. Instead of installing a brand-new hard disk (without partition), a partition must be created in the hard disk before being installed in AMMO. Then, the device will function without RFID security as normal enclosure.
2. The following two options are recommended for users who prefer not to activate the RFID function: 1. Install a used HDD (partition created already) 2. Purchase a new HDD and create a partition on another computer before installing it in the AMMO.
-
Is it possible to purchase more than two keys for the Ammo?
No. For security concerns, we will only provide two keys. We recommend that the users keep the keys in a safe and secure place.
-
Is it possible to have a replacement Ammo’s RFID key if someone has lost it?
1. There is no replacement key due to security reasons.
-
If someone has lost their Ammo’s 2-keys/dog tags, how can they retrieve the data?
. For future service, we recommend that the end user register their product immediately at the In-Win retail website upon purchasing the Ammo; this is to identify the Ammo owner identity for future reference.
2. When completing the retrieval service, the owner must sign the Recognizance Agreement and will need to charge handling and transportation fees in advance. Upon receiving payment and a signed agreement, In Win will be able to process the request.
2. Our engineers will do their best to retrieve the data, however, each product has a different situation under different usage. Therefore, we are unable to guarantee that your data will be completely retrieved.
